Old South Meeting House is occupied by the British Light Horse Seventeenth Regiment of Dragoons.
October 27, 1775
The pulpit and pews are removed and hundreds of loads of dirty and gravel are spread on the floor as the church is turned into a riding academy and stable. Rev. Thomas Prince’s library in the steeple is used for kindling for a fire. The building is restored to use as a church in 1783.*
